Shannon Edwards
Owner and Principal Designer
Shannon has had a love for interior design as far back as she can remember. Her father owned a construction company while she was growing up and she spent many hours on job-sites with him watching homes go up, walls get painted and beautiful tiles and flooring going in. Having always loved the process, that served as the inspiration and backbone behind her drive to wanting to make beautiful spaces of her own.
In 2015, after spending nearly a decade in the corporate world, she decided to take a leap of faith to follow her dream and start her own Interior Design company. Shannon Kate Designs grew fast and in the best way a company could possibly grow; through referrals from previous clients. She feels very blessed to get to wake up and do what she loves every day. When Shannon isn’t designing interiors, she can be found spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Melanie Clark
Lead Designer
Melanie grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the ocean as a child. After graduating from college she moved to Laguna Beach, California and began her career working in the Art Industry. Melanie’s design influence is a combination of coastal aesthetic and modern clean lines, mixing organic materials and textures that create a peaceful environment. Melanie is married and the mother of 3 boys, all who are avid surfers. She is the perfect fit for Shannon Kate Designs and we are excited to have her on our team.
katie mitchell
Project/Logistics/Store Manager
Katie comes to SKD with a background in project management and logistics. We are so happy to have her keeping us and everything else in the office organized and on track. Katie wears many hats here at SKD and we could do what we do without her. She is a busy wife and mom to 3 girls, 2 cats and a dog. She is also Shannon’s younger sister, it is a family affair over here at SKD.
